What is a noise immission forecast under TA Lärm?
An acoustic forecast determines the expected noise immissions of a planned or existing facility at the relevant immission points and compares them with the guideline values of TA Lärm. It serves as verification towards the authorities in permitting and planning procedures.
Do you produce forecasts for complex chemical and process facilities?
Yes. A key focus is large, complex industrial facilities with many sound sources and auxiliary systems – such as chemical and refinery sites, steelworks and process facilities. Understanding the process engineering makes it possible to classify operating states and sources correctly and quickly, without you having to explain every area of the site in detail.
Can individual machines, units or components be measured acoustically?
Yes. Fans, pumps and other units, right up to subsystems or complete facilities, are measured and assessed to the relevant standards to determine the sound power level. On that basis, concrete noise-reduction measures can also be proposed.
Can noise-mitigation measures also be recommended?
Yes. The acoustic assessment leads to practical mitigation options, compared and prioritised by concept. Structural or machine-side implementation is carried out by the client's contractors and suppliers – guided by acoustic specifications and expert support from Zörner Consulting.
Do you also work for manufacturers and suppliers?
Yes. Clients include both operators and their environmental officers, and manufacturers and suppliers who need an acoustic assessment of their products – individual units as well as complete or partial installations – and require mitigation recommendations. Joint follow-on planning is possible.
How does acoustic planning differ from a forecast?
A forecast assesses the expected noise situation. Acoustic planning sets reliable acoustic requirements for components, engineering disciplines and suppliers so that this situation is actually achieved in the project.
Is international collaboration also possible?
Yes. Work can be carried out in German and English. Zörner Consulting works across Europe and on international industrial projects.
Which industries and facility types does Zörner Consulting work for?
The focus is on steelworks and steel-related facilities including DRI and EAF facilities, recycling and material-handling facilities, chemical and refinery sites, and process and energy facilities with complex auxiliary systems.
